With reference to your example at https://eurocodes-tools.com/en/lifting-lugs-explanations
In C13-Bearing, the bearing check according EN 1993-1-8 Section 3.6 gives the bearing capacity of 338.4 kN while following the formula I got 676.8 kN. Could you please clarify the calculation and correct me if I made something wrong?

Hey Son,

Can you please detail your calculation?
In the example, it should be : 0.6 x 2.5 x 0.5 x 470 x 40 x 30 / 1.25 = 338400 N = 338.4 kN

Hi Stéphane,
Just noticed that the different results were because of the different value of alpha_b. You are taking it 0.5 and I took it as 1. You are correct. We should pick alpha_b value as e1/(3xd0) = 0.5.

Thanks a lot for your clarification,
